Chennai's class XII students in top 3, girls ahead of boys

CHENNAI: It was party time for schools in Chennai on Friday. In the state board +2 examination non Tamil category, students from Chennai got top 3 positions. A total of 5,87,994 students appeared for this examination. This year pass out rate is 84.4%, which is 3.4% high from last year’s examination. Once more girls leave boys behind them. The number of students who secured full marks in individual subjects had gone up except in Commerce.

Asha Ganesan of Anna Adarsh Matriculation Higher Secondary School in Anna Nagar, secured the first rank in the non-Tamil category with 1191 marks out of 1200, She studied French as the First Language,. S Muralikrishnan from the DAV Higher Secondary School in Adambakkam was ranked second with 1188 and Harish Sriram, from DAV Matriculation Higher Secondary School Gopalapuram secured third position with 1187 marks. Both had studied Sanskrit as the First Language.
