New Delhi: Student studying sociology under CBSE board for Class 11th will now have to appear for practical examination. This initiative has been taken by CBSE to make the subject more interesting. Now from next academic session student have to appear for 80 marks written examination consisting theory-based questions and 20 marks practical examination.
A notice circulated by the CBSE in this regard, said, "Sociology as a discipline also is more a mode of enquiry rather than a fixed body of knowledge. Projects in Sociology are not only a tool facilitating construction of knowledge by students and fostering creativity in them, but also a major contributor in infusing the right attitude for social issues and concerns in an individual and capacity building for problem solving".
