IITB's iSense to heal the heart




Mumbai: The Center for Excellence of Nanoelectronics of IIT Bombay is developing a device called ‘iSense’ capable of predicting heart attack in advance. The device will be in market place by the end of this year. The center is developing this device to detect acute myocardial infarction for clinical trials. The commercial production of ‘iSense’ will start by December this year informs Dr V Ramgopal Rao, Chief, Nanoelectronics department of IIT Mumbai. The iSence - an indigenous and sensitive detector works with a table- top box would cost somewhere around Rs 5000 to Rs. 10000.
