Ranchi: The district authorities in Ranchi are giving directives to schools to declare summer holidays as mercury is soaring high above 40 degree Celsius. While mercury touched 40 degree Celsius in ranchi on Sunday, it crossed 44 degrees in Jamshedpur and Dhanbad. Around 10 schools announced the start of summer holidays on Monday itself in light of the directive. "We will close our school from Tuesday," said D R Singh, principal of DAV Jawahar Vidya Mandir here. Earlier district authorities asked schools for change in timing due to intense heat.
